It was one of the performances invited by LCSD. The day was incredibly hot and sunny but luckily, where we performed was under a shading and it was not as hot as we expected.

It was my first performance in Salon but sad to say, it did not go well. I was too nervous! Nevertheless, it was a good experience and I had a chance to get to know myself as well. After all, I was not all mighty yet!

Allegro Singers 53rd Annual Concert, Hong Kong Cultural Centre

We were there to celebrate the 53 years old chorus group, I guess it was older than most of us! The other purpose of the event was also to commemorate the memory of Ms Barbara Fei (also known as Fei Ming-yi). She was a Hong Kong soprano opera singer and was the founder of a choral group, Allegro Singers. She was very famous among the singing world and did a lot of charities work, especially for promoting the chorus singing in Hong Kong.

As I was also very famous as having a walk-on part again in this evening. We performed the final song, Defend the Yellow River (selected from “the Yellow River chorus”), 保衛黃河(選自[黃河大合唱]).

This was an occasion to celebrate Salon had been established for 15 years. I had a walk-on part to join a chorus singing at the end. Salon solely promoted solo singers in Bel Canto for Opera songs. It never had any group singing before. I joined the chorus singing to support this rare occasion.

To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the reunification of Hong Kong, the Home Affairs Bureau held an "International Military Music Show" at the Hong Kong Coliseum at 8 pm on July 13-15. In addition to the local representatives of the Hong Kong Police Band and the Hong Kong Choir Association, the event also invited a number of well-known military bands in the Mainland and the field, including the Chinese People's Liberation Army Military Orchestra, the US Navy Seventh Fleet Orchestra, the Russian side guard army band.

This was one of the biggest events of the year for us. In total, we practised 5 times together and gave 3 performances in such a short period. In the end, we were very tired. We also appeared in many newspapers and news, what a happy memory!

Hong Kong Bauhinia Choir, Internal Exchange Concert, Sheung Wan Civic Centre

Although it was meant to be an internal exchange program, it turned out to be a performance to the public. Maestro Liu was ever so professional and dedicated teacher. During the rehearsal, Maestro Liu went through every single program and rejected the one that was not up to her standard. We were encouraged to come out and sing, but sadly, not everyone had a chance to perform on the stage. I was lucky!
